Pickleball with a Purpose! Benefitting Oak Tree Village, an SOS Care Community!

Join us for our inaugural Oak Tree Village Pickleball with a Purpose! We welcome pickleball players to come out and make a difference for the disability community! Team cost (2 players) is $120 and includes tournament play, a commemorative ball cap, light refreshments, wine and beer in the players and VIP lounge. Check out our silent auction and exhibition games (more details to follow). Spectators are free to attend or you can get a VIP spectator pass which includes access to the player and VIP lounge. All proceeds benefit Oak Tree Village’s capital campaign for building an affordable housing community in the Charleston area for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

1. 16 teams per division, (32 players, 8 courts) King/Queen of the Court Pickleball Tournament.

2. There will be three divisions that play on that day:

  a. Division 1. Women’s doubles 8:30a-11a.

  b. Division 2. Men’s doubles 12:30p-3:00p.

  c. Division 3. Mixed doubles 4:00p-6:30p.

3. $60/player, $120/team. Register as a team only.

4. Court 1 will be the top court. Court 8 will be the bottom court.

5. Teams will be placed on a court to start based on their combined DUPR rating. (DUPR=Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating). The placement of the teams will be at the tournament director’s discretion, not necessarily highest to lowest combined rating to start the tournament.

6. Teams will play a total of 10, 10 minute timed games, with a 2 minute break in between each game. Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes total.

7. At the end of the 10 minute time limit, the team that is ahead will move up a court. The team that was behind, will move down a court. (i.e. If you are on court 5 and are ahead, you will move up to court 4. If you are behind, you will move down to court 6). If the score is tied at the end of the 10 minute time limit, the last point will be played out to determine the winner. The team that is serving, will remain serving, but whoever wins the last rally (serving team or receiving team) will be declared the winner of that game.

8. Scorecards will be turned into the scorers’ table and the players will have 2 minutes to report to their new court to start the next game.

9. The team that moves up will begin serving the new game.

10. The final game will be a regular game to 11, win by 2, no time limit.

11. We will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish. Awards will be given out and pictures taken. The first place team will also receive a $50 gift card each, and will have their registration paid for the following year. The second place team will receive a $25 gift card each, and have 50% of their registration paid for the following year. The third place team will receive a $10 gift card each. No discount on registration for the following year.

12. Random court numbers will be selected at a random time during each divisions play. ( 1 each hour) Whichever team wins that particular game, will each receive a $10 gift card.

13. Players will be allowed to check in at the scorers’ table, 45 minutes before their divisions match begins.

14. Franklin X-40 balls will be supplied.

15. Players will be responsible for scorecards. (We will supply the scorecards)

16. This is not a DUPR sanctioned tournament. Scores will NOT be recorded in DUPR.
