What is Substitutes for Santa Grand Strand Young Professionals partners with SOS Care. Substitutes for Santa is held each December, this event provides a magical Christmas experience for 150 local children in Horry County. The children are first taken to Fun Warehouse for games and pizza, then they are taken to Walmart to buy Christmas presents. Each child also is sent home with a bag of necessary household items.

Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast – Each February Grand Strand Young Professionals hosts an oyster roast in Murrells Inlet with all you can eat oysters and live music. Chicken bog also is served. All proceeds benefit Substitutes for Santa.
Birdies at the Beach Mini Golf tournament – Grand Strand Young Professionals holds a mini golf tournament every fall. All proceeds benefit Substitutes for Santa.
How to Volunteer Volunteers must be age 18 or older, submit to a background check, and may choose to volunteer with a child or without a child. Our greatest need area is volunteers paired with children.
